Our Team
Driven by people, rooted in ethics
At Madron, we like to say that our staff don’t move on, they move up. Because it’s true. Many of the current Madron staff compliment have been a part of the team since the very beginning and, much more than a name on a payslip, they’re a part of our family.
Our company culture, what we prefer to call our ‘family values’, is built on the principles of honesty, hard work, and commitment, underpinned by a genuine passion for mentorship and sharing knowledge.
“We’re not a ‘hire and fire’ sort of place, we’re a hire and uplift sort of place, a place where upskilling and training our people is as much of a priority as sowing and harvesting our produce.”

As a business, we have a reputation for consistency of supply and quality
Behind that reputation is a team that’s consistently evolving, growing, and learning. Right now, the majority of both our middle and senior management teams are young, which means that there is huge potential for growth as individuals and for our business as an industry leader.
Looking back on the past two decades it is phenomenal how our people have grown and developed in the business. For example, Janet Kosani, who started as a lettuce cutter over a decade ago, now independently runs our entire packhouse and does all of the international-level audits. Abe Goniwe, who started as Madron’s first employee (without Jenkin as a surname) is still an active member of the farm team, highlighting the fact that we’ve been cultivating a positive work culture from the very beginning.
